We are proud to work with AmbiciOsas—a local NGO based in the Osa region of Costa Rica—whose mission is to resolve ecological and economic impacts caused by human activity. Launched in 2022, AmbiciOsas has become a leader in sustainable waste solutions for plastic, glass, aluminium, and cardboard in the region.
Their ongoing efforts include:
Operating a community recycling drop-off center in Bahia
Hosting monthly beach cleanups to protect marine ecosystems
Leading interactive sustainability workshops for all ages
Offering eco-consulting services for local businesses
Through education, collaboration, and innovation, AmbiciOsas is redefining how the Osa region handles waste—and Redefine CR is proud to be a part of that mission.
As AmbiciOsas’ first official sponsor, Redefine CR has been granted a dedicated recycling service day—Redefine Tuesdays—once a month, exclusively for homes in our portfolio.
This program reflects our expanded commitment to reducing environmental impact and ensuring that the materials used and discarded in our homes are responsibly processed. It also guarantees streamlined, consistent recycling collection across all properties we manage—making it easy for homeowners to fulfill their sustainability commitment without any extra coordination.
This hands-on collaboration strengthens the long-term viability of sustainable tourism in the Costa Ballena region and keeps our operations aligned with the values we share.

Redefine CR actively participates in regular beach cleanups that AmbiciOsas hosts, to protect our coastline, support wildlife, and engage with the local community. Everything collected through Redefine Tuesdays and our sustainability initiatives is handled with care and purpose:
Plastics: Shredded and transformed into eco-construction materials like benches, beams, and tiles
Glass: Sorted and reused by local artisans and small businesses
Aluminium: Compacted and sold to national recyclers, funding women’s employment and equipment upkeep
Cardboard & Paper: Baled for paper mills and partially donated to Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary to aid animal care
Electronic Waste: Managed through certified partners to safely extract reusable components and prevent toxic contamination
